Surf levels
Assessing the participants’ surf level is important for us to create the right groups. It shouldn’t be under-estimated or over-estimated.
YOU DON'T REALLY KNOW YOUR LEVEL ?
Beginner / Kid
FIRST WAVE LEVEL
Don’t panic! The instructor is with you in the water to guide you and help you improve every step of the way. You will get a true kick straight from your first session! You will ride your first small waves near the shore on a soft board. You will not go into deep water so that you can stand up and feel totally at ease, catch a maximum of waves and quickly learn the basics.
Intermediate
BRONZE LEVEL
Still by your side in the water, the instructor will have you try more technical boards and will take you surfing further out, to catch waves near the line-up.
Advanced
SILVER & GOLD LEVELS
You are now an empowered and self-sufficient surfer, and it’s time to do more and more complex tricks on waves which will become more and more technical (backside snap, cutback, floater…).

We also offer yoga and stand-up paddle lessons.
We tailor the class format according to your expectations: privatized class or group class, one day or several days… It’s up to you!
Complementary discipline to surfing, yoga helps you channel your energy, focus on yourself, with an optimal alignment of mind and body.
Equipment rental
The Côte des Basques is a magnificent beach… you’ll feel right at home there and won’t want to ever leave… but most of all, it is surrounded by cliffs. People like the 100 steps, but not enough to climb them several times a day, even less with a surfboard or because you just forgot your swimsuit!
Thankfully, you will find everything you need at the Hastea Surf Shop, right on the beach !
Wide range of boards for rent, everything you need to relax on the sand (umbrellas, tongs, beach toys, swimsuits, beach towels, sunglasses, etc.) or to take to the water (neoprene wetsuits, wax, fins, leashes, surf socks, etc.).

What’s included ? / What do I need to bring ?
Hastea provides you with a board and a wetsuit.
Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit, towel and sunscreen.

Times vary based on tides and levels of participants.
